![]() Neema Barnette is a native of Harlem, New York, and began her directing career while attending New York's High School for the Performing Arts. After graduating from CCNY, Neema was awarded acceptance into The American Film Institutes Directing Workshop For Women where she wrote, produced and directed her first film SKY CAPTAIN. Directing credits include: ONE MORE HURDLE, THE SILENT CRIME, and "WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW." Neema is the first African-American woman in the history of television to direct a sitcom. She has directed over 40 hours of prime time television including "China Beach," "Frank's Place," "Diagnosis Murder," "The Cosby Mysteries," "The Cosby Show" (Emmy Award), and the CBS drama "Different Worlds: An Interracial Love Story." Movies for TV include: "Better Off Dead," "Scattered Dreams," and "Sin & Redemption" for CBS, "close to danger" for ABC, and a feature for BET Films, "Spirit Lost." Speaker Fee $ 5000 |
